Devil's claw is a sprawling groundcover native to South Africa that is related to sesame. The roots and secondary tubers of the plant are used to prepare tea, extracts and topical ointments.

Check with your physician before using this herb if you have a history of gallstones, peptic ulcers, or if you take anticoagulants such as warfarin.
